Did you have the opportunity to have an internship in college? Did you get paid?
While internships were once a nice opportunity to gain skills, build connections, and possibly get a foot in the door for permanent employment, they are now often a required component of a degree program. Students need an internship as a means to earn academic credit. For many students this expected experience isn’t always paid for, or if it is paid, the stipend is less than needed to cover academic expenses that come later in the school year.
